Myron's Musings 2: Twenty-Five

The last twenty-five days have gone by so fast since I last wrote a blog, it’s just crazy to think. We have organized so much and are a big step closer to our trip. For example, my mom and dad have gotten a confirmation that the motorhome will be shipped on April 7th, and we have booked the flight tickets to Amsterdam already. It is now that I realize that I have to say goodbye to the cats for a year and I am incredibly sad that I have to leave them, but we found amazing people to take care of them so they have a loving home for the year.

Ever since we came back from visiting my great aunt, great uncle and grandma in London, Ontario it has been too cold to play outside, and we play outside until about -28°C. For the last… 2 weeks it has been an average of -27°C with a windchill of -40°C! But this weekend the weather finally went back to about -12°C and that basically feels like spring for us after being “stuck” in freezing cold temperatures. Raija and I played outside for just about the entire weekend! We have these abandoned parking lots full of snow near our apartment and it was the perfect place for us to play because it is not near any big roads and of course there is slot of snow😀

As for the trip it doesn’t feel like we are really going to do it, like we talk about it, we have bought the motorhome, we have moved to the rental apartment and we have this blog, but I still can’t quite imagine myself going up the Eiffel tower or walking in Pompeii or even the Kalahari Desert! Every time I think of the trip it becomes more reality. So it is not too bad, don’t worry. As for now, we are organizing everything that needs to be organized and packing up little bits at a time.
